“Gobou” is Japanese for the burdock root - it’s so good as braised as a side dish so I thought it would be perfect as a coordinating tonal. This colorway is super hard to capture as it has the most variegation out of all the tonals. In some lighting it’s orange toned, in others it’s more of a traditional beige. Either way, I think this would work so well as a suri held together with a brighter variegated colorway!
All skeins are carefully dyed with acid dye, washed and rinsed, however some bleeding may still occur. Each skein is unique and therefore colors may vary slightly from one to the next. Due to differences between monitors and screens, actual colors may also vary from what is shown. I recommend handwashing in cool water. Listing is for one skein only!

“Shibazuke” is another traditional Japanese pickle dish made of cucumber, eggplant, and perilla (Shiso) leaves. The shiso gives the pickles a deep purple color on the outside - which inspired this tonal! This is the deepest, darkest royal purple that I’ve made so far and it is sooo pretty. It’ll would make such a beautiful and classic statement piece 💜

“Aizome” was made (maybe selfishly bc I really wanted) to highlight these bits of blue. Aizome is the traditional Japanese art of indigo dyeing, and this tonal (I hope) highlights the deep dark blue hues that this dye process can achieve. (PS - Please note that this colorway is just inspired by indigo and is NOT in fact, dyed using indigo!)
