“Wisteria” is one of the bestsellers from the original Sakura Collection and I can totally see why! This variegated colorway is so romantic - with varying shades of lavender and speckles of greens and purples. It’s almost like you’re standing under a wisteria tree with tendrils of their blossoms swaying around you in a light spring breeze 🍃.

For this colorway, I was inspired by the contrast between the flowery, happy colors that fill the entire film and the horrible events that occur during the cult’s midsummer celebration. I didn’t want to make the colorway too bright, since it’s based off of a horror movie, but wanted to incorporate colors that look flowery at first glance, but can be seen as subtly sinister (if that makes sense?)! I went a little bit out of my comfort zone when creating this colorway, so I hope you get the flowery-with-a-sinister-twist vibe that I was going for!

“Spring Rain” is inspired by gloomy spring days, where the light is dim and almost blue-toned from the pouring rain, but with promises of the coming of warmer weather. The word hanami (花見) literally means “flower viewing”, and it’s the Japanese tradition of welcoming spring by gathering underneath sakura trees (preferably with some snacks or even a bento 🍱😋), and it’s definitely one of my favorite springtime activities. With this colorway, I wanted to capture the essence of the joy I feel when looking up at the sakura blossoms with the clear blue sky in the background. Knitting or crocheting with this would be like crafting with the tangible version of a bright spring day, with the scent of cherry blossoms in the air, and the warm gentle sunlight playing across your picnic blanket under the most gorgeous cherry tree ☀️🌸.
